Are you looking to trial or implement refined handling at your institution? Do you desire a mentor to help guide and coach you through using this method or implementing this method across your institution?

Mentee & Mentor Criteria

Target mentees include: vivarium training supervisors or managers, veterinarians, animal technicians or caretakers

Target mentors include: representatives from academia, industry and government whose institutions have switched to refined handling methods.

Timeline Options

Timeline Option 1: 3-6 months
- Individuals looking for longer term assistance, just getting started with implementation, looking for help with widespread implementation
Timeline Option 2: 1-2 months
- Individuals looking for shorter term assistance, a few questions that need to be answered or a targeted barrier that they could use advice to tackle

Member Expectations

Meeting frequency and duration: to be agreed upon between mentor and mentee; recommended in form of Zoom, Teams, WebEx or similar web-based communication platform
Mentor expectations: initiate meeting/conversations with the mentee, familiar with 3RsC refined handling resources, facilitate improving RMH knowledge and technique, help with widespread RMH implementation via feedback and guidance, set goals or expectations with time/check-ins specific to targeted project or deliverables
Mentee expectations: seeking guidance to clarify goals or resources needed to establish switching to RMH, communication facility-specific barriers, set clear goals with mentor, reception to mentee feedback and provide feedback to gauge progress, communicating in a timely manner
